The GCE curriculum is delivered in two ways:

  1. GCE Learning Units change every 4-12 weeks and ALL GCE Learning Units have an integrated English/history foundation.
  2. Core courses in math, science, foreign language, health/wellness, and executive functioning run consistently for the duration of the school year.

GCE Learning Units function by theme or subject. ALL GCE Learning Units include Field Experience EVERY WEEK (see GCE Cultural Appreciation in our Curriculum Guidebook for more details).  Some GCE Learning Units focus more heavily on math or science.  Other GCE Learning Units gravitate toward arts or civic engagement. As previously mentioned, all GCE Learning Units have an integrated English/history base regardless of the theme/subject.

For a full list of the GCE Learning Units, please see the GCE Scope and Sequence section of the GCE Curriculum Guidebook, which you can receive by emailing us.
