GCE Admissions
You Have Discovered the Global Citizenship Experience!
Pause for a moment and consider that you have entered a learning community, committed not to churning out graduates, but to the education and development of global citizens. We only accept 36 students each fall, almost all into Year 1 (9th grade equivalent). We will make a handful of exceptions for students in Years 2-4. We will strive together– GCE staff, students, families, and partners – to become more compassionate and competent, to shepherd one another’s growth and the growth of this living, evolving idea (becoming global citizens).
We have built the foundations for a curriculum and community that guides such growth. Please look closely at our 4-year GCE Curriculum Guide. Do you feel that the courses offered and the learning environment described will catalyze your child’s discovery and actualization of her potential? Do we teach skills that matter? Do we address the concerns of both students and parents? Do you believe that we serve your child’s needs today AND help them prepare for tomorrow?
Is GCE right for you and your family? CALL NOW and we can talk about your hopes, concerns, and your child’s unique learning style: 773. 883.1295. You can also apply online. If you’re still deliberating, please request a GCE Curriculum Guidebook and Admissions Map. We hope to hear from you soon.
If you’re still deliberating, please consider the following questions: Does your child exude a palpable desire to learn and willingness to put forth the effort to do so? Are such attributes identifiable but raw or nascent? Is your child likely to thrive in an intimate and accountable learning environment? Will you, as a parent, share your resources, your network, and your interests so that we can customize the experience for your family while finding systemic ways to replicate the benefits? Are you willing to let your child explore Chicago via CTA and on foot? Are you open to your child asking deep philosophical questions, eating new foods, being frustrated about and spurred to action by injustice, and communicating with classrooms across the globe?
